BIO
Malin Tybahl is a native of Sweden and has worked on stage on both sides of the Atlantic. She originally studied drama at Linköping University, from where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama Communication & English Literature. She also acquired a Theater Pedagogue Certificate from Marieborg Folkhögskola, a two year practical full time program in the basics of play and character analysis, theater history, improv and teaching practice. After a number of amateur theater productions, a professional theater internship, and touring the country doing interactive theater performances with a theater company she started with some friends, she finally made the move to New York. She graduated from the prestigious Neighborhood Playhouse after completing their two year acting program. Aside from acting she has also dabbled in directing and producing along the way, and collaborated with playwright Laurence Carr in translating and adapting plays by the Swedish Playwright August Strindberg.
Facts about me:
I know the subway system better than most. As "The Swedish Teacher" of NYC I travelled across town daily to teach adults and kids alike, until the Pandemic hit. A secret is that I love teaching online! It's such a time saver. I also have about 8 years of experience working with kids as a drama teacher, which means I had a sore throat for about as long. A Reiki Master and interfaith minister since 2008. Want an energy healing session - hook me up! My preferred exercise is as little as I can get away with. But I am a true believer of that "we are what we eat". Open my fridge and you will find a jungle. Berries are the best thing ever invented! The second best thing are lint rollers, as I love cats and have two. One of them I walk on a leash, although walking may be an overstatement. At a party you won't find me floating around doing small talk, but probably with a small group of people talking about things that matter in life.
